How did we get to Buena Onda?
Buena Onda Zahora was born out of...our desire to be able to live the most sustainable possible and reduce on impact we generate around us. To this end, we have proposed alternative ways and explored natural possibilities/solutions/natural ways of doing things to everyday tasks.
The first small step at Buena Onda Zahora was to build our house using used shipping containers, to which we have given a second life. We use recycled cotton to insulate the walls of the house and almost 90% of our furniture is second hand.
Los muebles que encontraréis en la zona del bar están hechos con nuestras manos con mucho amor y dedicación (Harry es muy manitas ya os daréis cuenta 😎). Están compuestos por trozos de madera sobrantes, pallets y muebles de second hand.
The electricity in Buena Onda Zahora (BOZ) comes from solar panels. We get our water from the underground water well. Not forgetting our beloved “recycling station” where we expect van owners to separate their waste into the categories of the local recycling system.
And our «blessed orchard».» where we work the land with care and it offers us fresh and delicious seasonal vegetables. We prepare delicious breakfasts with them, which you can see by clicking here. here.

WHAT DID WE DO BEFORE WE BROUGHT BUENA ONDA ZAHORA TO LIFE?
Harry grew up among sailing ships in the rivers and caves of the British south west coast. He studied for a life at sea and has spent the last 20 years working on some of the most beautiful sailing ships ever built. He has crossed the Atlantic Ocean some 20 times, exploring hidden islands throughout the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Seas. He bought this little piece of paradise and changed the course of his life to build his dream house, so that he could live on the mainland forever. And to stay in what today has become Buena Onda Zahora.
Cris was born in Barcelona and has a degree in Hispanic Philology, but she has worked as a belly dancer for almost 8 years. It was on a trip with some friends in the south that she discovered, 15 years ago, the paradise where they now live. But the big trip of her life was when she met Harry and together they sailed many seas and visited the most hidden islands of the Pacific. After a long time at sea, they were eager to set foot on land and build their dream house by the sea. She is half of Buena Onda Zahora and an indispensable pillar.
